Amnesty International has accused Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of muzzling dissenting voices in the country
This was contained in a post on their official X handle today.
In what they described as unacceptable, the Humanitarian group condemned the arrest and physical assaults meted on journalists, whistleblowers, and bloggers under Tinubu’s administration.
“President Bola Tinubu’s government had over the recent months escalated its spate of harassment, arrests and intimidation of journalists, whistleblowers and bloggers in a reckless and large scale attempt to muzzle dissenting voices in the country. This is unacceptable.” Amnesty International wrote.
This is coming few days after detained #Endbadgovernance protesters were made to face trial over alleged treason and felony.
