Lagos Book Festival is set to screen Wole Soyinka’s The Man Died movie adapted from one of his books with the same title.
As contained in an e-flyer made available to NPO Reports, the screening, themed ‘Breakout: Hope is a stubborn thing’, will hold on Wednesday 13th November 2024 at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The screening will be followed by conversation with the Director, Producer, and Lead Cast of the movie.
The Man Died movie had popular Nollywood actor, Wale Ojo as its lead cast.
Renowned for his artistry which had seen him take up lead roles in several blockbusting Nollywood movies, Wale Ojo will be leading the pack for The Man Died movie as he played the role of the Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka.
According to report, The Man Died is based on the harrowing prison memoir by Wole Soyinka.
It is a powerful tale of resistance, courage, and the unyielding human spirit.
Set against the backdrop of Nigeria’s civil war, the film chronicles Soyinka’s imprisonment without trial by a brutal military regime determined to silence his voice.
