Human Rights Lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, has called out the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, over failure of FAAN’s levy payment mobile application at Abuja airport.
Inibehe aired his frustration in a post on his X handle on Monday as he narrated how his ride was delayed due to the app’s failure, leaving many e-hailing drivers and passengers stranded at the airport.
Describing the development as embarrassing, the lawyer slammed FAAN for its inability to provide seamless payment platform despite charging the taxi drivers N2,000 per trip.
“It is embarrassing and annoying that your app (FAAN taxi) for payment of levy by Bolt, Uber and other e-hailing drivers at Abuja Airport is slow and inefficient.
“Why must everything in Nigeria be stressful and frustrating? FAAN collects N2000 per trip from the taxi drivers at Abuja airport but cannot provide a seamless payment platform or system.
“Drivers have to line-up for unreasonable duration before they can successfully make payment and be allowed to leave. The app is not on Google Play Store. Everything in Nigeria doesn’t have to be so complicated and problematic.” Inibehe said.
