The Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof Moji Adeyeye has stated that the agency would process and approve critical drugs for Coronavirus once the product is confirmed safe and effective.
She said the drug processing would be done within 10 days.
This was stated in the agency's official Twitter handle.
"On NAFDAC directive, local drug Coy, May & Baker has produced a batch of chloroquine as emergency stock if needed to tackle COVID-19.
"NAFDAC is set to process and approve critical drugs for Coronavirus within 10 days once product is confirmed safe and effective", the agency wrote in a series is tweets.
