Chairman, Nigerians Diapora Commission has querried the absence of any woman at the Friday meeting of the elders of the All Progressive Congress in Lagos.
The meeting was convened former interim chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande and former Governor of Ogun, Chief Segun Osoba.
It was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, governors of the zone on the platform of the APC and serving ministers.
It was to seek unity among presidential aspirants from the South-West zone of the country, according to the conveners.
However, taking to her twitter handle on Saturday, Dabiri-Erewa, a former member of the House of Representatives from Lagos State said there was no single woman on the table of the elders.
“Hmnnn! Meeting of APC South-West Elders/ Leaders. NOT ONE SINGLE WOMAN! From the whole of the South-West. Dia is God oooooo,” she wrote.
While some responded by telling that in Yoruba culture, women are supposed to be stay behind when the men of the house resolve very sensitive issues.
But in a counter to that, a human rights activist, Mrs. Ayo Obe, demanded if women are not part of the society that they cannot be part of decision-making.
