Ogun state Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has on Sunday joined other dignitaries and socialites in the celebration of the 2025 Ojude Oba festival.
The governor had earlier in a post on his official X handle expressed his delight to partake in the festival in honour of the host, the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.
Abiodun described the event as a timeless tradition which showcases the rich cultural heritage of Ijebuland.
“We are getting set as we step out to join our people in celebrating this year’s Ojúde Ọba Festival — a timeless tradition that showcases the rich cultural heritage, unity, and pride of Ijebuland.
“As always, we look forward to honouring our revered monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON and celebrating with the good people of Ijebuland in grand style.” He wrote.
The governor would then make his grand entry into the venue as he arrived in a chariot, donning his brown embroidered agbada.
Also joining Abiodun are Nollywood actors Wale Ojo, Femi Branch, and Lateef Adedimeji amongst others.

Speaking in an interview, Wale Ojo expressed his admiration for the culture as well as the colourful atmosphere of the event.

“I’m enjoying the culture. I’m enjoying the colour. This is a real celebration of our culture.” He said.
Also making his mark again at the festival today was Farooq Oreagba who stole the spotlight during last year’s edition.
In similar version, Oreagba rode through the throng of crowd on a horse while in his stylized Agbada attire with his signature cigarette in his mouth.
Other socialites that awed the audience so far with their distinct outfits include entrepreneur, Princess Ronke Adesile, filmmaker, Niyi Fagbemi, and popular fashion designer, Akin Faminu.
Several regbregbe groups also showcased their respective outfits, adding to colourful ambience of the festival ground.
The event also featured red carpet session where fashionistas and socialites displayed their attires.
