The tragic fuel tanker explosion along Karu bridge, Abuja, has recorded an increase in death toll with 10 victims now confirmed dead.
NPO reported that the incident occurred on Wednesday evening after a CNG powered truck suffered brake failure, crashing on other vehicles which led to the explosion.
While the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed six deaths, 25 injured, and 18 cars destroyed, a source in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reportedly disclosed the increase in the death toll.
According to report, the ill-fated truck identified as Dangote trailer, heavily loaded with cement, lost control while approaching Nyanya Bridge from AYA and crashed into stationary vehicles trapped in traffic.
The impact ignited a massive inferno, causing panic among bystanders and motorists.
