The Supreme Court on Friday nullified the decision of an earlier court which recognized Mr. Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party.
But amidst the ruling on Friday, the Labour Party faction belonging to Abure said he remains the leader of the party.
A statement by Obiorah Ifoh said the court recognized the right of the parties to determine their leadership.
“Supreme Court strikes out Nenadi, Abure suits, says only Political Parties can can determine who their leaders are. It also said that the courts shouldn’t dabble into the affairs of the political parties. 8 Abure is still the National Chairman of the Labour Party.” The statement noted immediately after the court’s ruling
