The N80bn allegedly laundered by the Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, can employ at least 1000 unskilled persons at the monthly salary of N200,000 monthly.
According to Dr. Nasir Daniyan, Director-General, Sokoto Information & Communication Technology Directorate, the money can also build 100 primary health care centres at N8m per one.
In a post made on Wednesday, Daniyan wrote, “That N80bn could employ 1000 unskilled jobless Nigerians on flat N200k monthly stipends for 33 years, still leave a balance of N800m out of it, enough to build 100 Primary Healthcare Centres at N8m each is heartbreaking! May God save Nigeria from enemies of it’s progress, amin.”
The Accountant General was arrested at the weekend over allegation that he laundered N80bn by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He was suspended on Tuesday by the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed pending investigations of allegations against him.
