Popular Nigerian human rights activist, Harrison Gwaminshu, has called for just for a yet-to-be house wife who was heavily brutalised by husband in Abuja.
The disturbing incident which was captured in a video shared on X on Monday showed the Abuja-based man repeatedly hitting his wife with a table tennis racket under the watchful eyes of their toddler.
Another section of the video showed the visibly enraged man strangling his wife as the assault continued.
Gwaminshu disclosed that the incident which occurred on Sunday was one of many reported domestic violence orchestrated by the husband against his wife.
The activist said the woman had report the incidents to the police several times but her husband kept getting bailed with the police allegedly handling the case with leniency.
“Late last night, I received this troubling video. This woman suffered so much in the hand of the husband.
“This is not the first time thia husband wants to kpai her.
“She has gone to the police several times but each time, the police will keep saying it is family issue. And then the man will be released on bail and nothing will happen, the beating will continue.
“Some persons who knows reached out to me and said Harrison please assist this woman. Let the Police authority take action immediately so she won’t die.” The activist said.
