An Abuja Federal High Court has granted N10 million bail to activist, Olamide Thomas, who rained curses on Seyi Tinubu, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Police Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi in viral video.
This was disclosed in post shared on X on Monday by the African Action Congress (AAC) 2023 Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore.
According to the post, Olamide’s legal counsel, Dr. S. M. Oyeghe, Esq, and J. A Ekwe, had filed her bail application before the court.
With no appearance from the Prosecution Counsel, the motion for bail and the complainant’s counter affidavit was adopted and argued.
Bail is accordingly granted in the following terms
The court, in its ruling granted N10Million naira bail with one surety in like sum.
The surety is to present three years tax clearance certificate and also reside within jurisdiction of the court.
Two recent passports of the surety and the defendant were also demanded by the court.
Following the ruling, the court adjourned the case to February 18, 2025 for trial.
