The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has exhumed an old tweet of Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, where he described his predecessor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, as his mentor.
This is coming hours after Sani disregarded suggestions that he was under the political tutelage of El-Rufai.
The Kaduna Governor had in an interview on Television Continental’s (TVC) Politics on Sunday programme identified President Bola Tinubu and late human rights lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi, as his leaders.
He held that to reacting to insinuations about being a mentee of El-Rufai is unnecessary.
“I don’t think it is necessary to respond to that comment,
“What I can say is that there are a lot of people in my life. Even President Bola Tinubu — I met him in 1994 at the house of Beko Ransome-Kuti.
“Gani is a leader and father to me, because during the era of struggle, I lived and stayed in his house. My focus is Kaduna. I don’t talk about individuals; I don’t get distracted; my eyes are on the ball.” He said.
In reaction to the governor’s statement, the ADC Vanguard in a post on its X handle revived Sani’s posted where he acknowledged El-Rufai as his mentor.
As seen in the post the governor wrote in 2022 in celebration of El-Rufai’s birthday, Sani described him as his boss, mentor, friend, and dependable political ally.
He further labelled El-Rufai a special gift to Kaduna while acknowledging his innovativeness, creativity, and resourcefulness amongst others.
