Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is set to inaugurate the commencement of academic session and investiture of the pioneer Vice Chancellor for The Minaret University in Ikirun area of the state.
Adeleke will be joined by the Sultan of Sokoto, President Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Saad Abubakar and the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, for the inauguration ceremony.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Media Lead, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria, Qasim Akinreti.
According to the statement, the event is slated for the 5th of February at the temporary site of the faith-based university owned by the global Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
The Amir, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria and Chancellor Minaret University, Barrister Alatoye Azeez Folorunso, will officially present the pioneer Vice Chancellor Professor Abdul Rahman Abdullah to the academic and host community in Ikirun.
Minaret University Ikirun was among the new private universities granted licences by the Nigerian government last year.
The faith-based university added to the growing number of private universities in Osun state and Nigeria in general.
The Minaret University is also launching its first publication on global peace as one of the foremost centers of academic excellence in Nigeria and globally.
The book titled, The Super Powers – Geopolitics of World War and The Pathway To Peace, is written by Hafiz Yunus Omotayo, a Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria and Journalist.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community globally is noted for promoting peace across the world.
The event slated to start by 10:00 AM Prompt at Minaret University Mini-Campus, Along Ikirun-Offa Expressway, Ikirun, Osun State.
