All the chairmen of local government areas and local development areas sworn into offices before the exit of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola have been sacked.
This was also sequel to a court judgement which nullified their elections last week before the exit of the Governor.
However, while the chairmen said that the party had appealed the judgement and filed for a stay of execution, the Governor has ordered that most senior officials of the council areas should take over affairs as from today being first working day after the swearing of the Governor Ademola Adeleke on Sunday.
This is contained in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Rasheed Olawale.
The statement indicates that the directive, which takes immediate effect is in compliance with the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo; which sacked the elected Local Government Chairmen and Councilors.
