Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has paid a condolence visit to Akinlalu community where men of the Amotekun Corps allegedly killed four residents with eleven others severely injured.
NPO Reported that the armed local vigilante men had on the 30th of September invaded the community, opening fire at unsuspecting residents at the market square.
They allegedly advanced into compounds hacking some of the residents to death while firing rounds of bullets at others.
The mayhem had sparked public outrage with calls for justice.
While about 20 of the suspected officials involved in the attack has been arrested, Adeleke on Monday paid a personal visit to the affected community where he met with the traditional ruler in the community.
As captured in a video made available to NPO Reports, the governor was accompanied by the Osun State House of Assembly lawmakers led by their Speaker, Adewale Egbedun.
Prior to his visit, the governor had last week sent delegates to the community.
The delegate led by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, had relayed Adeleke’s vow to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators of the Akinlalu’s killing.
While delivering the governor’s message, Alimi had condemned the incident and assured the people of Akinlalu that the Adeleke-led government is a listening government that does not support criminality.
