Former Miss South African Beauty Pageant contestant, Chidinma Adetshina, has accepted the invitation to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria Pageantry.
She disclosed this earlier today in a video shared on X.
Adetshina expressed her her excitement to partake in the contest following the backlash that met her emergence as strong contender for the now concluded Miss South Africa.
“I cannot start this video without expressing my gratitude to the incredible people who have showed me so much love and so much support. Now I have received invitation from the Silverbird Group who are the organizers of Miss Universe Nigeria Beauty Pageant.
“And I say this with great excitement because I have decided to participate in Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 Beauty Pageant.
“I understand the expectations and responsibilities that come with this title and I’m so excited to embark on this journey.” She said.
Subjected to heavy criticism and xenophobic remarks from South African community due to her Nigerian descent, Adetshina forcefully withdraw from the contest as it led to probe of her original identity.
It was, however, discovered that her mother had forged her South African identity- another factor that contributed to her withdrawal from the contest.
Following her withdrawal, the organizers of Miss Universe Nigeria had offered her an invite to participate in their pageantry competition.
