BUA Group Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has promised $500,000 cash rewards to Nigeria’s Super Eagles after their 2-0 victory over Algeria in the AFCON 2025 quarter final.
Rabiu made the promise in a post shared on his X handle on Saturday while congratulating the players for their impressive performance and national pride.
He lauded the team for raising the nation spirit.
“Congratulations to our Super Eagles on a brilliant victory. You lifted the nation’s spirit and showed the true Nigerian fighting spirit,” Rabiu said.
He promised a $500,000 reward if they proceed to win the semi-final match against Morocco, with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored.
Rabiu added that victory in the final would attract $1 million, plus $100,000 for each goal scored in the championship match.
“Our players have shown discipline, courage and unity. Nigerians are proud of you, and we stand firmly behind the team,” he said.
The BUA chairman urged the Eagles to remain focused, saying their success inspires millions of Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
“Go out there, play with heart and confidence. You carry the hopes of over 200 million Nigerians,” Rabiu said.
Nigeria booked a semi-final spot after defeating Algeria 2-0 at the Stade de Marrakech on Saturday.
The Super Eagles will face host nation Morocco in the semi-final on Wednesday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat.
