Super Eagles have been held to a goalless draw by Rwanda at the ongoing 2025 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
The Nigerian National team endured a frustrating afternoon at the Amahoro stadium, Kigali, as the Wasps kept them at bay.
Fresh from their 3-0 victory over Benin Republic, Super Eagles travelled to Kigali where they faced off against Rwanda.
Nigeria established dominance at the first half as they surged for early an early lead.
However, impressive performance from Rwanda’s goalkeeper, Fiacre Ntwali, denied the Super Eagles of several chances- including a solo drive from Ademola Lookman.
Prior to his solo drive, the Ballon D’Or nominee who scored a brace against Benin Republic managed to find the back of the net with an header in the 30th minute, but the goal was disallowed due to a foul committed on Rwandan defender in the build-up to the goal.
The Augustine Eguavoen- led side missed other crucial chances before the end of the first half.
Nigeria continued their dominance in the second half with Victor Osimhen coming on for Victor Boniface inn search for an opener.
The Super Eagles, however, still failed to find a breakthrough with Ntwali making series of heroic saves to bring the game to a 0-0 draw.
Meanwhile, the draw sees Nigeria maintaining the number one spot in Group D with four points.
