This is coming barely two weeks after the attack and abduction of worshippers in a church in Eruku community which is also situated in the same local government.
While the 38 kidnapped victims of the Eruku attack have regained their freedom, the bandits in less than 24 hours after the announcement of the worshippers’ release stormed Ekiti LGA with Isapa community as their target.
According to reports, the gunmen, numbering over 20, stormed the community around 6pm while moving with a large herd of cattle.
They fired gunshots indiscriminately, forcing residents to flee for safety. An elderly woman was struck by a stray bullet during the assault.
A community leader, who spoke anonymously, confirmed the abduction of 11 people, including seven members of the same family.
Also among the abductees were a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several young children.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the attackers moved through several parts of the community, leaving bullet holes in homes and shops. Dozens of expended AK-47 shells were recovered after the gunmen retreated.
