Faderera Olajide, a personal assistant to Osun State lawmaker, Oluwole Oke, has affirmed her membership with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite her principal’s defection to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
NPO Reported that the Oke who is representing Ijesa North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, earlier this week decamped from the PDP to the APC .
The six-term lawmaker had cited alleged lawlessness in the party as reason behind his defection.
However, some of his aides, including Olajide, had pledged the loyalty to the ruling party in the state.
Olajide, in a statement issued on Friday and made available to NPO Reports, held that she cannot be a member of any other party except the PDP.
While expressing her gratitude to Oke for giving her the opportunity to serve under him, Olajide pledged her loyalty to the state governor, Ademola Adeleke.
“I, FADERERA ABOSEDE OLAJIDE personal assistant to the Ijesa North representative at the 10th Assembly Hon. Dr. Busayo Oluwole Oke popularly known as BOO.
“I wish to state and make known to the whole world that I still remain a dedicated and committed member to my lovely party PDP and that I can’t be a member of any other party except PDP.
“I appreciate the opportunity I’ve had to serve, and I’m grateful for the experience.
“However, due to my unwavering support and loyalty to the leadership of the party and that of His Excellency (Dr.) Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke the Executive Governor of Osun State, and for the love I have for my people at large.
“Let us not be confused, I remain a loyal party member of PDP and critically stand with IMOLE-OSUN 4+4=8* by the special grace of God, Amen.” She wrote.
Oke, while confirming that Olajide is one of his many aides, said the Ademola Adeleke led government is chasing his political associates, aides and close confidants and promising them “juicy appointments.”
Oke said Olajide is one of the very least of his aides adding that she may have fallen for what he called fake promises thinking that would weaken his decision to leave the party.
“They have virtually been lobbying my Aides with offers to resign,
“Virtually all my aides were offered SA and car. Four rejected. she is the only one who fell for it” He said.
