Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has ordered his lawyers to withdrawal all the lawsuits filed against Kogi State lawmaker, Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Akpabio made this known while speaking at the new year service at Sacred Heart Church in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State capital, on Thursday.
Addressing the congregation, Akpabio recounted his legal cases with Akpoti-Uduaghan which lingered all through the year 2025.
While failing to directly mention the Kogi lawmaker, the Senate President disclosed that he has about nine legal cases against Akpoti-Uduaghan.
He however admitted having a change of mind after listening to the sermon delivered by the church’s priest.
Akpabio directed his solicitor to withdraw all the suits.
The Genesis of the two lawmakers feud dated back to Thursday 20th of February when a video of their clash during the Senate’s plenary session surfaced online.
Drama had reportedly ensued at the plenary session with Akpoti-Uduaghan captured yelling at Akpabio, over sitting rearrangement.
Akpoti-Uduaghan blew hot upon resumption of the session after discovering that her seat was relocated.
The visibly enraged lawmaker could be seen calling out the Senate leadership after refusing to comply with the change of her seat.
She accused the Senate leadership of gender discrimination.
The few minutes clash at the red chamber would swiftly escalate into months of litigation battle seasoned with allegations and controversies after Akpoti-Uduaghan’s appearance on Arise TV’s Good Morning Show where she accused Akpabio of sexually harassing her.
