The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of five persons allegedly involved in a clash between traders and motor park touts
The command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest on Thursday.
Recall that NPO reports had reported that the clash began on Wednesday in which the fight was reported to have been precipitated by the increasing activities of street urchins who allegedly have been terrorizing the traders.
It was also reported that some shops were set ablaze while some were looted.
Hundeyin said that only one dead body was recovered during the clash, stressing that the area was calm as more police operatives have been deployed to the place.
It was however revealed, that the traders were resisting plans to establish illegal toll collection park inside the market.
