Human Rights lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi , has arrived at the Ekiti state Magistrate court, Ado-Ekiti, for the resumption of his defamation suit hearing.
The court’s premises where heavily guarded by security operatives as the jury awaits his arrival.
As seen in a post on Facebook, the embattled lawyer who as sued by Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) over defamation claim, eventually arrived at the court premises with heavy security details.
He was geared up by supporters and fellow activists as he approached the court room.
NPO reported that the legal tussle between Farotimi and the founder of Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) began following the human rights lawyer’s accusation of Babalola for corrupting the judiciary system.
Farotimi made the allegation in his controversial book titled ‘Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System’.
Afe Babalola had filed the defamation lawsuit against Farotimi while requesting for the revocation of further publication and distribution of the book.
