Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has on Saturday lived up to his word as he drove to a fuel station buy N10,000.
This is coming hours after African Democratic Congress Vice Presidential vowed to dump the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 Presidential Election, Atiku Abubakar, if the price of fuel drops to N600 per litre by Saturday.
NPO Reported that Amaechi made the vow during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today programme on Friday evening.
The former Minister of Transportation had in the interview challenged President Bola Tinubu over the rising cost of living, saying the removal of fuel subsidy has made life more difficult for Nigerians.
He said he will drive to the fuel station himself to purchase fuel and confirm the current price.
Living up to his word, Amaechi appeared at a fuel station in Abuja alongside Atiku.
The arrival of the ADC’s candidates attracted crowd of residents and supporters who stormed the fuel station as Amaechi told the pump attendant to sell N10,000 fuel for his car.
While being attended to, he engaged in a conversation with the crowd reiterating Atiku’s vow to reduce fuel price by introducing production subsidy.
‘If you elect Atiku, he will bring down the price of fuel by introducing production subsidy. When he brings production subsidy, the price of fuel will come down.
‘Tinubu has taken all our money. If you are not tired, me I’m tired.’ He said.
