Former Governor of Lagos State Akinwumi Ambode was present on Tuesday as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led other All Progressive Congress (APC) leaders to a stakeholders’ forum.
The forum held at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Tuesday saw Ambode meeting his predecessor and former Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, who also in attendance.
Others present at the forum were Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, State Party Executives, State Executive Council, members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) like Alhaji Mutiu Are, Chief James Odunmbaku, and members of the Federal House of representatives, Hon. James Faleke; Senator Tokunbo Abiru; wife of the Deputy Governor, Lagos State, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat; her husband, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; and GAC Leader, Prince Tajudeen Olusi.
Also in attendance were Chairman, APC Lagos, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi; Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi and Speaker House of Assembly Mudasiru Obasa, and Youth Representatives led by the APC National Youths leader, Dayo Israel.
According to a post shared on X, the stakeholders unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for second term in office.
The motion for the endorsement was moved by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu and seconded by the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
Ambode was succeeded by the incumbent Sanwo-Olu after a four year term in office.
There have been talks in many quarters that Ambode may be in the race for the successor of Sanwo-Olu come 2027.
His presence at the stakeholders meeting on Tuesday drew attention as he greeted many of the party leaders who also warmed up to him.
