Amnesty International Nigeria has reignited its demand for the whereabout of missing Kaduna activist, Abubakar Idris, popularly known as Dadiyata.
The activist who clocked 37 yesterday was reportedly abducted by gunmen on the 2nd of August 2019 with his whereabout largely remaining unknown.
Amnesty in a post on its official X handle, on Tuesday, reiterated its demand for his whereabout as his disappearance has since left his family and friends in concern.
“Today Abubakar Idris (Dadiyata) would have been celebrating his 37th birthday, with family and friends full of joy and gratitude. Instead of celebrating, today his family and friends are facing the anguish of not knowing his whereabouts.” The post read.
Dadiyata was kidnapped at the entrance of his home by the gunmen.
He was married to Khadijah Ahmad for six years and living in the Barnawa area of Kaduna with his wife and two daughters.
According to report, the activist is likely to be presumed dead by 2026 in accordance to 2011 Nigerian Evidence Act as it will mark the sixth year since he went missing.
