Human rights advocacy group, Amnesty International, has called for probe of deaths in Cameroon after the re-election of Paul Biya, the country’s president.
NPO Reported that re-election victory of the 92-year-old Biya for an eighth term in office was met with violence across Cameroon.
Angry voters and residents took to the streets, challenging security operatives, and causing civil unrest over the election.
On Sunday, four protesters were killed in the city, when they clashed with security forces.
Two out of the four causalities were reportedly shot dead by snipers at the residence of the opposition leader and runner-up, Tchiroma Bakary.

Reacting to the development in a post shared on its X handle, Amnesty International condemned the attack on the protesters.
It accused the police of using deadly force against the protesters.
The group harped on the need to protect people’s rights.
Amnesty International demanded independent and impartial investigations into the deaths recorded.
“Authorities must respect, protect and facilitate people’s right of peaceful assembly.
“There must be a prompt, independent and impartial investigation into the deaths.” The group said.
