A clash has broken out between the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance’s (APGA) party agents in the ongoing Anambra gubernatorial election.
The clash reportedly occurred around 9:35am at Oba Civic Centre Polling Unit 009 in Oba Ward 01, Idemili South local government area.
While the actual cause of the clash was not disclosed, the party agents, as captured in a video shared on X on Saturday, could be seen exchanging words with one of them breaking free from the hold of his colleagues as he confronted the opposition party agent.
The drama briefly halted the voting exercise as voters and election officials watched party agents engaging in heated argument.
Meanwhile, an election observer had earlier raised alarm over alleged vote buying at some polling units.
The election observer attached to the Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room disclosed that some opposition party agents had challenged the other agents and election officers at the polling unit over the development.
