The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has deployed its officials and adhoc staff to their respective polling units as Anambra Governorship Election kicks off.
Photos and videos shared on X on Saturday showed the officials with election materials waiting for bus to convey them to their designated polling units.
NPO Reported that the election which is officially slated to start by 8pm will be conducted across 5,718 polling units in the state’s 21 local government areas.
Ahead of the poll, INEC on Friday released the full list of registered voters.
While a total of 2,802,790 voters were registered, only 2,769,137 were confirmed to have collected their Permanent Voters Card (PVC).
This indicated that 98.80 percent of the registered voters picked up their PVCs ahead of the poll.
Notable among the local councils to look out for at the election is Idemili North LGA which emerged as the council with the highest number of eligible voters with a total of 243,873.
This was followed by Awka South with 214,841 eligible voters while Ogbaru LGA has a total of 186,103 eligible voters.
