The 2025 Anambra governorship election is underway as voting commences in several polling units across the state.
Following the arrival of electoral officials deployed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday, eligible voters are gradually appearing at their respective polling units to exercise their franchise.
Pictures of some of the polling units shared on X by INEC showed the electoral officials attending to the voters on arrival.
NPO earlier Reported that the commission in the early hours of Saturday deployed its officials and adhoc staff, including National Youths Service Corp (NYSC) members, to the polling units.
With the election billed to commence by 8:30am, some of the electoral officials arrived early at their polling units and set up their electoral materials.
One of the pictures shared on X by INEC showed officials at Obi’s Palace, Umumunna Amakwa, Ozubulu, Ozubulu Ward 01, Ekwusigo LGA.
The officials were seen sitting behind their desk with the ballot box and other materials in position as they await the arrival of voters.
As at 8:47am, voting had commenced at RA 10: Enugwu Ukwu II, PU 003 & PU 004, Njikoka LGA.
Some of the voters could be seen checking up their names in the in a lost pasted by wall, while those already accredited formed a queue before the electoral officials.
At Polling units 011 and 012 in RA 08, Omor III, Ayamelum LGA, some senior citizens were captured while undergoing accreditation.
