A 27-year-old Anambra woman (name withheld) has refused to leave her husband despite being physically assaulted.
As seen in a viral video on X, the mother of two was found lying with her child in a bush at Amaokpara area of Anambra state on Sunday.
The visibly battered woman was rescued by some of the residents who called the attention of popular human rights activist, Harrison Gwaminshu.
In swift intervention, the activist departed for Anambra with his team.
On arrival at the family’s compound, Harrison disclosed that the woman initially denied to the team access to her husband for the fear of getting him arrest.
The husband was eventually called out for interrogation.
As seen in the recorded video of the interrogation, the woman maintained that she love her husband and has no intention to leave him.
She was, however, taken to the hospital for proper treatment before being handed over to the wife of Anambra state governor, Nonye Chukwuma Soludo.
“Upon arrival, the wife took measures to protect the husband, refusing to allow us to see him until we pressed the issue, at which point she presented him to us.
“Throughout our interaction, she maintained that she wished to remain with her husband and asked that we not apprehend him.
“Our primary focus was ensuring the woman received proper medical care, and we appreciate the Wife of the Anambra Governor’s intervention to provide further support to her and children.” Harrison wrote.
