The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential aspirant, Stanley Osifo, has dismissed plan to contest the outcome of the party’s presidential primary election as President Bola Tinubu leads the poll with wide margin.
NPO Reported that APC members and leaders across the country had on Saturday trooped out for the conduct of the primary election.
Osifo’s refusal to withdraw from the race had led to the party’s adoption of a direct primary.
Meanwhile, the election had largely tilted in favour of Tinubu with results emerging from each states declaring the incumbent president winner of the poll.
Tinubu secured landslide victory with Osifo recording zero votes in some states like Sokoto state.
While the general outcome of the result is yet to be announced, Osifo expressed readiness to accept defeat as he dismissed talks of possible contest against the result.
The presidential aspirant made this known during an interview with TVC on Saturday evening.
He pledged not to fight with the party over the result.
“As a party man, I don’t have to fight my party and I will never do that irrespective of whatever it is that is the outcome of the electoral processes and the primaries.
“I have to abide with the party. I don’t see anything that will make me do things that are inimical to my party.” Osifo said.
The aspirant reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, stressing that he will never be pushed to fight the party.
“You know that there are certain actions people will take to get you upset and angry to do certain things against your party that you belong to. I cherish my party so much.
“I will never allow anyone push me to do anything against the party.” He added,
