More facts are emerging on the fallouts of the last screening exercise where former National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress Iyiola Omisore and seven other aspirants were disqualified from contesting the primary election.
Omisore said a member of the screening panel whose name he did not give, had given then hint that the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Gboyega Oyetola had told the panel members that the preferred candidate for the Osun governorship election is the immediate past Director General of the National Inland Waterways Agency (NIWA), Mr. Bola Oyebanji.
The former Osun Deputy Governor, in video shared on Facebook, alleged that Oyetola had directed the Chairman of the screening panel to disqualify every other aspirant for the governorship ticket.
“The Chairman of the panel on the first day reached out to us that Minister Gboyega Oyetola called him that he must disqualify all of us because his candidate, his lackey, his poster boy, Oyebanji, is who they want in Villa.” Omisore said.
NPO Reported that the ex-APC National Secretary was alongside seven other aspirants disqualified from contesting in the primaries by the APC Screening Committee slated to hold on the 13th of December.
The ex-Osun Deputy Governor and the other disqualified aspirants were reportedly barred from the poll over gaps in their nomination documents.
While he had initially reacted to the development with a biblical quote, Omisore would in a video shared on Facebook on Saturday faulted the APC Screening Committee’s decision to disqualify him.
He accused the panel of partisanship while alleging that the reports of the screening is yet to be made available to the aspirants.
