The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has announced its 2022 conference holding on Thursday, October 6 at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja.
The statement signed by the secretary of the organization, Remmy Nweke, disclosed on Sunday, that its speakers include former Inspector General of Police, Dr. Solomon E. Arase, human rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, and Dr. Chichi Aniagolu-Okoye, Regional Director, Ford Foundation (West Africa).
Nweke further revealed the theme for the 2022 conference is, “2023 Elections: Managing the Process for Credible Outcome,” and that the keynote speaker is the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prod. Mahmood Yakubu.
The Chairman of the 2022 Conference Committee, Mr Ken Ugbechie, quoted by Nweke in the statement, said that the event would be chaired by the founder, Centre for Alternative Policy Perspectives and Strategy (CAPPS), Dr. Umar Ardo.
Ugbochie advised both electorates and politicians to adhere to the rules and conform to acceptable electoral behaviour especially now that the peace accord has been signed by key political players. He also added, that the conference would be preceded with a business luncheon with GOCOP partners on Wednesday, October 5.
He stated that GOCOP intends to use the conference as an opportunity to moderate the tense political atmosphere and proffer solutions to electoral challenges ahead.
