Former Osun state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was on Sunday night spotted at the 2025 edition of LaffMatazz comedy show annually staged by ace comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka.
The current National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was reportedly seen in company with his wife, Alhaja Sherifat Aregbesola, and some of his children at the event.
According to a statement issued on Monday, Aregbesola was initially spotted by one of the comedian, Fagade Olufemi Ademola, popularly called Omo Baba.
The performer would then call the attention of the audience to the former Minister of Interior’s presence as he acknowledged him and his family at their table.
While making his grand entry into the hall for the full commencement of the show, Adeyinka also stopped by at Aregbesolas’ table to pay homage bowing and hugging the former Minister and exchanging pleasantries for a moment before he proceeded to the stage.
In similar version, popular Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, specially devoted time to recognise Aregbesola and his family before his performance for the night.
Dakolo, would, in the middle of his performance, jump down from the stage to meet Mrs. Aregbesola, who held him and danced to his songs for some minutes before returning to the stage.
The show had featured a combination of stand-up comedians, such as Dr. Phelar, Edo Pikin, Omo Baba, singers such as Sunny Nneji, 9ice, Musiliu Haruna Isola, Isegun Johnson and a host of others.
Other notable dignitaries also present at the show include Chief Executive Officer of Eleganza NIgerian Limited, Mrs. Shade Okoya, and Director General of the National Sports Commission, Mr. Bukola Olopade.
