Aregbesola’s Convoy Held ‘Hostage’ in Osun as Massive Crowd Greets Interior Minister

After unveiling a Digital National Center in Ilesa Osun State on Friday, a massive crowd of well wishers held the convoy of Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola hostage as they trooped out to express support for the former Governor.

The minister, who had handed over a Digital National Center to Ijesa Muslim High School, later drove through the streets of Ilesa, his hometown where residents trooped out to welcome him.

It took a long time for the former Governor to navigate his way as many residents forced his convoy to stop to express their support for him.

Aregbesola had earlier also declared his stance on the division within the All Progressive Congress in Osun.

Aregbesola had said he belongs to The Osun Progressive (TOP) faction of the APC, confirming that the party is now divided into two.

Conspicuously seen among those who rode with the convoy were hundreds of commercial motorcycles riders popularly called Okada who were chanting solidarity songs with the former Governor.
