The scheduled meeting between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal Government has been postponed till Wednesday 28th August, 2024.
While the reason behind the postponed remained unclear, the ASUU President, Emmanuel Oosdeke, confirmed the adjournment of the meeting.
The proposed meeting was initially announced on Friday by the Minitser of Education, Tahi Mamman, during an interview on Channels TV.
Triggering the call for the meeting was the planned fresh nationwide strike by the academic body over rge Federal Government’s failure to honour the 2009 renegotiated agreement.
ASUU’s demands include improvements in welfare, university funding, and halting the proliferation of universities across the country.
