The Federal Government on Saturday, secured the release of 15 inmates from the Malumfashi Satellite Custodial Centre in Katsina. The Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Mr Haliru Nababa, made the disclosure during the event, noting that the release was facilitated by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olabinmi Tunji-Ojo. The Archbishop, Anglican Archdiocese of Enugu, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma, on Saturday appealed to the Federal Government and Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu State to decongest correctional centres in the state. The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) says one person died and another sustained injury when a truck lost control at the Alagbon-Olorunda bridge along Owode-Idiroko Road in Ogun. Mr Adekunle Ajibade, the South-West Area Commander of TRACE, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Ota that the accident was due to speeding. Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), Bauchi state chapter, has confirmed the release of Mrs Rhoda Jatau on bail by the Bauchi state High Court 11. Mr Mujahid Ibrahim, the Programme Officer of CITAD disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Saturday. Footage has emerged showing extensive damage to Gaza’s oldest mosque, with Hamas accusing the Israeli military for bombing the site. In the video, verified by the BBC, much of the Great Omari Mosque appears to be reduced to rubble, with only its minaret still intact. Hamas officials accused Israel of committing a “heinous, barbaric crime”. The Israeli military has not commented. The mosque opened in the 7th Century on the site of a Byzantine church.
