An accountant with the Cross River state government was on Wednesday shot by gunmen within the premises of the Government secretariat. The accountant was reportedly returning from the bank when gunmen believed to have been on his trail from the bank caught up with him and shot him. They were said to have made away with a bag containing the money he had gone to the bank to withdraw.
