The Nigerian Army has condemned Tuesday’s unprovoked attack on troops and patrol vehicles by protesters along Lafia-Makurdi road in Nasarawa State. The Director, Army Publiic Relations, Brig.-Gen. A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, dismissed a suit filed by Abba Maina, linked to Boko Haram activities, against the Department of State Services (DSS). Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a judgment, held that the suit, which sought detained Maina’s release, was an abuse of court process since similar suit was pending before an FCT High Court. Justice Ekwo said instituting different actions between the same parties simultaneously in different courts even though on different grounds amounted to an abuse of court process. The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Enugu State Command says it has registered 1,137 inmates for the National Examination Council of Nigeria (NECO) external exams in the last 12 years. The Controller of Corrections in Enugu State, Mr Nicholas Obiako, disclosed this on Wednesday in Enugu to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
