The Nigeria Union of Petroleum Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, has dismissed reports of planned protest by members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers, PTD, branch of the Union. NUPENG advised Nigerians against panic, saying there are no issues at all. The Israeli military has released footage which it says shows hostages being taken into Gaza’s largest hospital after the deadly Hamas attacks of 7 October. A military spokesman said one of them – a soldier – was murdered there. Cpl Noa Marciano, 19, was killed after being taken into al-Shifa hospital with minor injuries, he said. British actor Joss Ackland has died at the age of 95, his family said in a statement. The prolific stage and screen actor, who has been in more than 100 movies and TV series, died “peacefully” and was “surrounded by family”, they said. Former US First Lady Rosalynn Carter, the wife of ex-President Jimmy Carter, has died at the age of 96. The Carter Center confirmed in a statement that she died peacefully with her family by her side. On Friday, it was reported that she had entered a hospice care home in the state of Georgia, and was spending time with her 99-year-old husband, who has been in hospice care since February. Mrs Carter was diagnosed with dementia in May. Former US President Donald Trump congratulated Mr Milei on his victory, saying he would “Make Argentina Great Again!”.
