The suspect, who was arrested alongside one Jerry Lawrence on Monday, June 10, was said to had demanded a ransom of N50 million in bitcoin. The General Manager of Public Affairs, TCN, Ndidi Mbah, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday. The Malawai President, Lazarus Chakwera disclosed this on Tuesday, following report from the Malawi Defence Force commander stating that the search and rescue operation has been completed and the plane was found. This was disclosed in a statement released on Monday, stating that the institution’s monthly electricity bill had skyrocketed from N70m to N230m per month.
