Paul Mackenzie, the Kenyan man accused of leading a cult and being responsible for the deaths of more than 400 people, has been found guilty on separate charges. A court in the coastal town of Malindi convicted him of illegally operating a film studio associated with his preaching and distributing films without a valid filming licence. Some of his sermons are still available online. The magistrate, however, acquitted him of the offence of inciting children against attending school. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied the purported video alleging the withdrawal of its Governorship Candidate in Imo, Sen. Sam Anyanwu, from the Saturday election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Friday, urged a Federal High Court, Abuja not to grant the ex-parte motion filed by Alhaji Lamidi Apapa-led Labour Party (LP), seeking to replace the party’s governorship candidate in Imo. INEC, in its affidavit to show cause pursuant to the court order, told Justice Inyang Ekwo that the plaintiffs’ suit was statue barred. The Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command, says it has arrested a 45-year-old Islamic cleric over alleged possession of fresh human parts. The command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), SP Adewale Osifeso, made the disclosure when he paraded the suspect among other suspected criminals at the command’s headquarters in Ibadan, on Friday. He said police detectives arrested the suspect at about 10 a.m. on Nov. 6, at Ogbere-tioya Area, Ibadan.
