The Registrar General of the commission, Hussaini Magaji, disclosed this during a press briefing on Tuesday in Abuja. Magaji stated that the discovery was made following a complaint from the Federal Capital Territory Administration to verify the status of a non-existing company seeking land allocation. He explained that the discovery of the non-existent company led him to investigate further, resulting in the identification of other companies. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday, gave final warning to defaulters of ground rent payment in the FCT, insisting that something would happen. Wike gave the warning when the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), led by its President, Dr Chris Isiguzo visited him in Abuja. The Environmental Special Offences Court of Lagos State District, sitting in Ikoyi, has imposed a N30,000 fine per person or option of community service on 26 persons for reckless waste disposal. This is contained in a statement issued by the Director, Public Affairs, Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Mrs Folashade Kadiri, on Tuesday in Lagos. The Federal Government says it is untrue that water released from the Oyan Dam in Ogun was responsible for the flooding experienced annually in some parts of Ogun and Lagos. Prof. Joseph Utsev, the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, made the claim while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday after an on-the-spot assessment of facilities at Oyan Dam. The Police Command in Borno on Tuesday said it has released the husband of the housewife who was murdered at her matrimonial home in Maiduguri after arresting the principal suspect. The command said that the husband, Adamu Ibrahim and his friend, Bukar Wadiya who were detained after reporting the incident to the police, had been released. The Chairman of the commission, Muhuyi Magaji, disclosed this to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday. Mr Magaji said the suspect was picked up at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport shortly after arriving from Saudi Arabia.
