The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has accused some Nigerians of body shaming it’s newly recruited officers. The agency denied recruiting underaged Nigerians into its service. This was sequel to a photograph which emerged on social media of a new recruit of the agency who looked underage. The photograph was said to have been taken during the passing out parade of 2,500 NDLEA officers. Reacting, Nigerians accused the anti-narcotics agency of recruiting a teenager. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says it has secured the release of one of the eight Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) abducted in Zamfara State, through the help of security agencies. The Lagos State government on Saturday demolished an illegal structure on Banana Island, constructed on unauthorised reclaimed land to obstruct drainage paths. The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr Oluyinka Olumide, who led the exercise also ordered the demolition of illegal fences. Olumide was accompanied by the General Manager, Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Mr Gbolahan Oki, who decried the rate at which property owners and developers disregarded building code, hence, the demolition to compel compliance. A heavy downpour on Friday evening claimed the life of a 31-year old motorcyclist identified as Yakubu Lucky, at Dogon Gada in Lokogoma District of the FCT, Abuja. The Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which confirmed the incident in a statement in Abuja on Saturday, said the deceased defied warnings, drove into a pool of water and drowned.
