An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Monday sentenced an apprentice, Godwin Ogboniya, to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting his employer’s 9-year-old daughter. Justice Abiola Soladoye held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubts, the elements of the one-count charge of sexual assault by penetration against Ogboniya She said that the defendant, who had been living with the survivor’s father for three years, was an “unkind and unworthy employee who embarked on sexual frolicking with the nine-year old girl”. ABUJA, Oct 16 (Reuters) – Nigeria’s annual inflation rose in September to its highest level in about two decades at 26.72%, amid a worsening cost-of-living crisis in Africa’s largest economy. The September inflation rate rose for a ninth straight month from August’s 25.8%, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Monday, with millions of Nigerians impoverished due to the impact of President Bola Tinubu’s reforms. Police in South Africa have launched a manhunt for an escaped suspect accused of pretending to be a doctor. Kingsley Leeto Chele “is a Facebook con artist who targeted women by misrepresenting himself as a doctor or a pharmacist and scamming them of their hard-earned money”, the police said. He also goes by the names Dr Kingsley Chele or Dr KJ Ncube.
