By David Orji The Lagos state Police Command on Wednesday said its men have arrested about 400 suspected persons in various black spots in the last one month. The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest Wednesday, said 25 different police divisions were involved in the raids. Hundeyin said the massive raid became necessary in view of complaints and intelligence reports emanating from the areas where the suspects were apprehended. Chief Fatai Adams reportedly died in the early hours according to the Party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Kennedy Peretei. The defence secretary failed to disclose an earlier hospital stay to the chain of command US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin has been released from hospital and resumed his duties, the Pentagon has said. Mr Austin, 70, was admitted to the critical care unit at a DC-area hospital on Sunday for symptoms of an “emergent bladder issue”. In a statement, Mr Austin’s doctors said he was in “good condition” after receiving non-surgical treatment. Multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos has sold more of his shares in Amazon, bringing the total value of sales in recent days to more than $4bn (£3.2bn). The technology giant, which Mr Bezos founded in 1994, said he has sold 24 million Amazon shares this month. Mr Bezos, who is the firm’s executive chair, last sold Amazon shares in 2021.
