Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the kidnap of two persons in the early hours of Saturday in Otu town of Oyo State by unknown gunmen. The Police on Saturday said they have disrupted plans by some kidnap gangs to abduct students and other citizens in Niger and the FCT. The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said during a media briefing in Abuja on Saturday that three members of the gangs have been arrested. The Nigerian Navy (NN) on Saturday handed over a fishing trawler, MFV Lady Jessica ll, and 13 crew members to the Federal Department of Fisheries in Bayelsa. The trawler was arrested on Dec. 11 by the the Navy’s Forward Operating Base (FOB) Formoso. It was arrested while trawling within an area reserved for artisanal fishing boats.
