Grammy award-winning South African DJ and record producer Black Coffee is receiving treatment for injuries sustained during a flight, reportedly because of air turbulence. He was en route to a club performance in the Argentinian resort city of Mar Del Plata when the incident happened. Local media are reporting that the DJ was admitted to hospital. Black Coffee’s management team called the incident “severe” adding that it had “left him with some injuries”. Israel’s plan to “destroy” Gaza comes from “the highest level of state”, the UN’s top court has heard. The claims were made by South African lawyers as it presented its case accusing Israel of genocide at the International Court of Justice. South Africa also called on the court to order Israel to cease military operations in Gaza. Israel – which will present its defence on Friday – has vehemently rejected the accusations as “baseless”. Former Minister of Power, Dr. Olu Aguloye was on Thursday granted bail in the sum of N50 million. Agunloye, for the second day, was brought before Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of a Federal Capital Territory High Court on Thursday. Aguloye was charged with seven counts bordering on forgery, disobedience of presidential order and corruption in the suit marked FCT/HC/CR/617/22, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him. An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Thursday reserved judgment until Jan. 26, in a case involving a Lagos bishop, Oluwafeyiropo Daniel, charged with raping his assistant pastor and one other (names withheld). Daniel, who is the Bishop of I Reign Christian Ministry, was also charged with attempted rape of one other alleged survivor (name withheld). He, however, pleaded not guilty to the amended four-count charge bordering on rape, sexual assault and attempted rape. A fake soldier, Muhammed Halidu, is in police net in Nasarawa State. Police spokesman in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, stated in Lafia on Thursday that Halidu, a resident of Karu Local Government Area of the state was arrested in full military camouflage. Somalia’s government is working to rescue the passengers of a U.N. helicopter that was captured by al Shabaab militants, a spokesperson said on Thursday, but military officers said it would be difficult to access the area where they were taken. The U.N.-contracted helicopter was conducting an air medical evacuation when a technical problem forced it to make an emergency landing near Hindhere village in central Somalia, an area controlled by the militants.
