The Police Command in Bayelsa has commenced investigations into the death of a mother of three whose decomposing body was dumped in a gutter along Akali street in Yenagoa, the state capital. ASP Musa Mohammed, Spokesman of the command, confirmed the development in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday. Mohammed said a police team had evacuated the corpse and commenced investigation to unravel the circumstances behind her death. The Police Command in Anambra says it rescued two kidnap victims and arrested no fewer than 30 suspected criminals between Dec. 1, 2023, to date. Aderemi Adeoye, the Commissioner of Police in the state, made this known at a conference in Awka on Monday, on the yuletide operations conducted by the command. Adeoye said 12 suspects were arrested for kidnapping, nine for alleged armed robbery, six for cultism and three over alleged insurgency. Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi has dissolved his cabinet and appointed new one as part of transition process for the incoming administration in the state. Nigerian Virologist, Prof. Oyewale Tomori, has called for the assessment and maintenance of COVID-19 infrastructures across the country.
